Good Friday?

Good_FridayToday, we will take time to remember the great sacrifice of our Lord and Savior Jesus.

I look forward to seeing our church family gather at each of our locations tonight at 7:00 PM as we each worship, pray and partake in Communion.

This is the day we set aside to remember that Jesus was crucified.  It is known as Black Friday, Holy Friday, Great Friday, Easter Friday or most commonly…Good Friday.

But…Good Friday is a strange name for a day of death.

It is unclear where that name came from.  Some think “good” parallels the word “holy” in the Old English.  Some think “good” was intended to be “God,” but was corrupted over time like “God be with ye” became “Good bye” over time.

No matter the origin, it is a good day for us!

The love of God was demonstrated as Jesus laid down his life for us on that first Good Friday.  Because he did, we know what love is and we can live.

Here’s the crazy part…our sin put him there, but his love held him there.

Oh Praise Him!

Join us tonight at 7 PM, and then join us for the our Easter Celebration and final installment of our Heroes series.  You don’t want to miss it!
