The 9…

As a church, we’ve spent a few moments over the last two weekends looking at a lack of readiness in the disciples. [Mark 9:14-29] We unpacked a moment when 9 of the 12 disciples  were not involved in prayer & fasting as they should have been; and as a result, they were not ready to be part of what God wanted to do in and through them.

I don’t want that for us as a church.  I don’t want us to be unprepared or out of position like the 9. As a church family, we need to be prepared for those moments when God positions us to make a difference in this world for Him.

As a result, we are going to prepare for what God wants to do through a time of prayer, fasting and study leading up to Easter. We’re calling it Crave, and we are going to seek His presence, His wisdom and His purposes for His people at Heritage Church through the Crave journey.

Be sure to check back here [liveSENT.today] for resources, reflections and further information.

I am truly excited to see how God will use this time!

It is my prayer that He will show us how He wants to work in and through us as a church and prepare us to reach thousands of people who are far from God.

Pastor Shawn

Heavenly Father – You are holy. You are all-powerful. Today, I sit before You, and I am once again in awe of who You are. You are able to do anything, and we are not. But…we can do all things in Your Son Jesus. With that in mind, I ask that you would once again pour out Your Holy Spirit upon Heritage Church and do the extraordinary. Use us to rescue thousands in this region with the truth that there is freedom in Jesus. Set the people of the Quad Cities free. Allow us to reach those who are far from You. I know You can totally do this. But even if You don’t, know that OUR hope and trust is in YOU and YOU alone. May YOUR will be done in us. In the name of Jesus, I pray this. Amen.
